This part of my website (all the green and yellow pages) was developed whilst I was studying Web Development I at Southern Cross University in 2013. An earlier attempt at a personal website can be seen here. This earlier version of the website has the contact page that you will need if you are tring to find directions to my house.
I grew up in Sydney, and worked for many years in administrative roles in the Australian Taxation Office and Telecom Australia (as Telstra was then known). In 2001 I started studying medicine at the University of Queensland, and I now work as a General Practitioner in Ballina, NSW.
In 1989, I moved to the Northern Rivers Region of NSW, and commenced the long process of building my own home, with final completion of the house occuring in 2005. The garden was started early on with the planting of seedlings for the trees that now make up the framework of the garden, spread over two acres. My partner is an enthusiastic gardener, and over the last three years (to 2013), numerous shrubs and ornamental trees have been planted, so the garden is always ablaze with colour, from roses, azaleas, magnolias and many other common — and not so common — perenials.
I am studing for the Bachelor of Information Technology at Southern Cross University at present. I am interested in software development and Web Site design. There is demand for both these skill sets within medicine, for example, patient record systems, and Web Sites offering general information or practice-specific Web Sites. Apart from enjoying programming and design, having both skill sets (medicine and programming) would make me a useful member of any medically-oriented software project.
